The FBI's most recent internet crime report says victims of romance scams and confidence fraud schemes submitted more than 4,300 complaints to the bureau in 2021. Losses totaled more than $429 million and victims reported the use of investment or cryptocurrency. CNN affiliate KPTV sat down with one victim who hopes his story helps others avoid the pain he's still dealing with.
